It doesn't matter if you are vegetarian or otherwise, for other fishes & meats, we either rear them or fish them as a whole & consume them as a whole. But for shark fin, it is cut from the shark, the shark is thrown back into the sea after the fins are obtained. Without the fin, the shark can never survive in the water & in most cases, they are eaten by other sharks which can be the fin-less shark's family. This is just brutal.
If this doesn't stop you from consuming shark fin, I wish you luck, as many researches were carried out on shark fins & they are tested to contain high level of mercury. Eat up!
